5 Ways to Share Your Book Promotional Video With the World

Video is the hottest way to grab your readers' attention; it attracts casual viewers with its unique style while delighting regular fans with added insight into your works. Getting the perfect book marketing video made can be a challenge, but getting it done is only half the battle. Once you have a marketing piece in hand, what's an author to do? Where should you put the video so it will do the most good and attract the most new readers to investigate your books? Social Media

Add the video to all your social media profiles, including Facebook, Twitter, and anywhere else you frequent. When adding it to Facebook, make sure you load the actual video instead of just a link. You'll get more positive viewers if the video is right on the page. Facebook's video uploader also allows you to make the video a part of your author page; make sure you take advantage of this feature.

Your Author Website

This may be an obvious step, but it's one of the most important ones you can take. Put the video on the first page of your site, as well as on any pages dedicated specifically to that book. Visitors to the site should be able to find the video easily.

YouTube and Vimeo

These two sites are the acknowledged kings of video online. When posting your video to these sites, use keywords as carefully as you do when listing your book for sale. Add the title of the book and your author name as keywords. Link the video to your author website so viewers have an easy way to buy your book once they're done viewing the footage.

Your Email Signature

Almost no one thinks to add promotional details to their email signature, but how many people see email every single day? Add the video to your signature to reach people who may not have ever seen any promotions for your books. It's all a part of constant branding, which is the best way to saturate your market and stay in the public eye.

Amazon and GoodReads

Every author on Amazon has a specialized page at Author Central, dedicated to her books. Upload your video to this page for curious readers to see when they're checking out your work. GoodReads is filled with readers who can make or break your book's sales. Giving them the opportunity to see your book video is one more step on the way to becoming a GoodReads fan favorite.
