Are you kidding? $300 entry fee? Come on! I guess Mom has some kids she wants to send to Harvard? 
When newbies in this business ask about contests and reviews, my answer is always, "Never pay for them!" I don't play the lottery either, even though Powerball is $240+ million tonight. An author probably has more chances of winning that than winning a literary contest. 
But thanks for the info...I know you offered it in good faith.
